At Official® we support the need for social distancing, not only to protect yourself and others, but to stop this pandemic as quickly as possible. However, we recognize that many people still need to leave their homes when necessary and there are those in essential jobs that continue to work during this difficult time.
The CDC has stated that you should avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth during the pandemic and that face masks are highly recommended. Face masks will help you refrain from making contact with your face and ultimately help prevent the spread of the disease. It’s why we're using our resources as an apparel company to produce quality face masks for our customers, with over 150,000 pieces shipped.
What / Who is Official® and why are we making masks?
Over the last 15 years you would’ve considered Official® an apparel company located in California specializing in headwear, bags, and accessories. As COVID-19 spread, we, like so many other businesses were full of anxiety mixed with a side of panic. We asked ourselves, what do we do best? The answer was simple. We would do what we’ve always done: utilize our supply chain, manufacturing and shipping capabilities to produce the best accessories. This meant quality face masks to contribute to pandemic relief.
To date, we’ve released a variety of mask options including intricate cloth, reticulated foam, ventilated styles, and simple children's face masks and we will continue to help keep you safe as face masks become the new norm. Official® is here to give you peace of mind during this difficult time. From our family to yours, stay safe and healthy, and let's work together to beat COVID-19.
Everyone can do their part to help us respond to this emerging public health threat by following CDC recommendations: Wear a cloth face covering in public settings to avoid spreading COVID-19 to others in case you are infected but do not have symptoms. The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected. The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are considered critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders, as recommended by CDC. The cloth face covering is not a substitute for social distancing. CDC continues to recommend that people try to keep about 6 feet between themselves and others.
